A Special Focus For This Father’s Day Weekend
Thanks to the great feedback that we get from our patrons and exhibitors the show is developing not only into an event packed with so many options on the top end’s outdoor activities, but also as a source of information and education on how to enjoy it all safely and responsibly, and encouraging healthy, happy outdoor lifestyles.
With the Show staged over the Father’s Day weekend what better time to focus on men’s health and lifting awareness of men’s cancer so that we help prevent this increasingly prevalent disease in our husbands, fathers, grandfathers, brothers and mates.
We have joined together with the Cancer Council and the Honda Over the Top Expedition to raise awareness and funds for men’s cancer and in particular prostate cancer which takes the lives of around 3000 men in Australia each year.
Skipper, Peter Jenkins will be sharing his challenging journey on stage at the Show. He and brother, Philip launched their 8.6m rigid inflatable in Sydney in mid-July, and have followed the coastline North stopping at so many spots on a 9500km journey to Perth, working with locals to raise funds to help fight this disease. They are due to arrive in Darwin around the end of August. Don’t miss this opportunity to share the journey and cause with these two intrepid boaters.

Cancer Council Northern Territory
The Cancer Council Northern Territory is a Territory-wide service focused on meeting the cancer related needs of the community.
Our cancer information and supportive care services cater to anyone touched by a cancer diagnosis and our public education programs are conducted to increase awareness and prevention of cancer. Cancer Council is an evidenced based organisation and we support cancer research.
We are committed to raising funds for the purpose of reducing the impact of cancer on Territorians and the generosity of the community enables us to provide services aimed at doing just that!
By supporting Cancer Council NT you will help support the 1 in 2 Australians who will be diagnosed with cancer before the age of 85.
The “Honda Over the Top Expedition” of 2011 is supporting Cancer Council NT to actively educate and raise awareness of men’s cancer issues, particularly the need for men to talk to their GP about Prostate Cancer. It is also focused on the need for continued research into effective Prostate Cancer detection and treatment!
